Move beyond simple geometric shapes. The Organic Tree-Support Vase is a challenging project designed to teach you how to master complex overhangs using "Tree Supports".
The concept
Instead of traditional blocky supports, Tree Supports branch out to reach difficult areas with minimal contact points. This project features a coral-like structure that is impossible to print without them.
Settings that matter
For this Level 5 project, the magic happens in your slicer. Experiment with Tree Support Branch Angle and Top Interface Layers. The goal is to have supports that are sturdy during the print but snap off like twigs, leaving a clean surface behind.
Why it matters
Mastering tree supports significantly reduces material waste and post-processing time. It opens the door to printing complex organic sculptures and intricate mechanical parts.
